Circumstances of disappearance

Sarah was last seen leaving her parents' residence in Saxon VS at 5:30 pm (17:30). She intended to go to her grandmother's, but she never arrived there. A search was launched immediately and Sarah's bicycle was found on the evening, in the stairs that led to the gym. Two young people saw Sarah at about 7 pm (19:00) at her school, which is located about 50 m from her parents' residence.

The search for Sarah continued in the days preceding her disappearance, a wide sector between Riddes and Martigny was searched thoroughly, including the houses in the town. Members of the Swiss Army also helped in the search. No trace of Sarah has ever been found, though.

There is a reward offered in Sarah's case. The Sarah Oberson Foundation was founded in 1998, thirteen years after Sarah's disappearance.
