Circumstances of disappearance

Pascal was last seen leaving his place of residence at 16:00 (4pm) on Sept. 30, 2001 probably to visit the Oktoberfest (traditional German celebration) which was being held nearby. His parents got concerned when he didn't return by 21:00 (9pm) and made a missing persons report. An intensive search was launched immediately but nothing was found.

After conducting an investigation, police concluded that Pascal was sexually abused and murdered on the day of his disappearance in a restaurant called "Tota-Klause", near the area where Pascal lived. Later, his remains were disposed of in a sand pit in Schöneck, France, which is near the area where he disappeared. Scent dogs have been searching for the child's remains since February 2003 but nothing has been found.

Twelve suspects, 4 women and 8 men, between the ages of 35 to 60, have been imprisoned in connection with Pascal's case.
